Owned by two business partners, the company employs five highly skilled individuals. With a breath of expertise across multiple specialisms.
Passionate about investing in the local engineering sector, the company proudly partners with neighbouring colleges to facilitate work experience placements and offer apprenticeships as opportunities arise. Nurturing local individuals to flourish, with most remaining at the helm for over a decade.
Richard Scourfield
Business PartnerHow long have you worked at Bartlett Engineering for?
Myself and my partner K, purchased the business in 1992. From my father (the company’s founder) Roy Scourfield. I’m proud to continue the family business.
What is the best thing about being part of Team Bartlett?
Working with people to help create a better future.
What are you interests and hobbies?
Restoring steam traction engines. The most iconic restoration being our Burrell Crane Engine, No. 3166, Joe Chamberlain.
K Scourfield
Business PartnerHow long have you worked at Bartlett Engineering for?
Since 1992, when Richard and myself began our adventure taking over the business.
What is the best thing about being part of Team Bartlett?
The lovely working atmosphere. Being part of a team which feels like an extended family.
What are you interests and hobbies?
Going on countryside walks with our family’s two Jack Russells Charlie and Bertie. Cooking and preserving, with my speciality being sloe gin.

Dog walking, cooking and baking, art and design.

Works ForemanHow long have you worked at Bartlett Engineering for?
I joined the business as an apprentice in 2010 in our Fabrication workshops. Eventually progressing to become our Works Foreman.
What is the best thing about being part of Team Bartlett?
The variation of work, with something different each week.
What are you interests and hobbies?
Walking, fishing and caravanning.
